The Center for Urban Pedagogy (CUP)

The Center for Urban Pedagogy (CUP) is a nonprofit organization based in New York City with a national audience. The CUP uses the power of design and art to increase meaningful civic engagement, particularly in underrepresented communities. They make urban policy and planning issues understandable to more community members so that they can better participate in contributing to them. The projects are collaborations with art and design professionals, community-based advocates, policy members, and the CUP staff. The CUP look at many issues, including the juvenile justice system, zoning laws, and food access. They do this through youth education programs and community education programs.
