This is a call to action for landscape architects and designers to get politically active. Landscape architects cannot become the climate remediators they have propped themselves up to be if they remain intact with the client-based processes. The renowned landscape architect Olmsted challenged the status quo, he put himself in the political arena. Landscape architects and designers must reject the neoliberal model and become political activists. Who is more equipped to take lead in the climate crisis than those who know how to form the built environment? The Green New Deal will require landscape architects to make its aims attainable.
